Message Anyone have pics of a broken timing belt tensioner?

I'm asking because my buddy and I were doing a timing belt change and he got his hands on the new timing belt tensioner before me and broke off the arm that holds the adjuster screw. So, he put the new tensioner wheel on my old tensioner base plate. I realize now that we could have just used a c-clamp to pull the arm closed and used the complete new tensioner with the broken arm, but we didn't. And now, since the timing belt and accessories are all back on, I'd prefer not replace the tensioner again if I don't have to.

But what do you think, should I take everything apart again and use the new tensioner wheel with the new tensioner base plate? For those of you that have seen broken timing belt tensioners, what typically breaks? Do the bearings seize up or does the shaft snap off?
